LIAM Ó MAONLAÍ

Liam Ó Maonlaí is one of Ireland’s most distinctive and versatile musicians, best known as the frontman and founding member of Hothouse Flowers.

Deeply rooted in Irish traditional music, Liam is a singer, pianist, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose music reaches across sean-nós, folk, soul, blues and rock.

From the earliest days of Hothouse Flowers busking on the streets of Dublin to an international career spanning decades, Liam has always maintained a deep connection to Irish music and language. Alongside his work with the band, he has developed a rich solo career, releasing the albums Rian and To Be Touched and collaborating with musicians and artists around the world.

His solo performances are wonderfully free-flowing affairs. Moving between piano, voice, bodhrán and whistle, songs can emerge from one another with little regard for genre — from traditional and sean-nós music to blues, original material and songs from the Hothouse Flowers catalogue.

An intimate Sunday evening with one of Ireland’s great musicians.
