JAPANESE ROCK & ROLL POWER TRIO

Electric Eel Shock are a Japanese rock trio and a full-throttle celebration of classic rock, punk and metal.

Formed by Aki Morimoto on guitar and vocals, Kazuto Maekawa on bass and Tomoharu “Gian” Ito on drums, the band built their reputation the old-fashioned way — playing relentlessly and taking their live show around the world.

After leaving Japan for the US at the end of the 1990s, Electric Eel Shock became a near-constant presence on the international touring circuit, taking their brilliantly chaotic rock & roll across Europe, America, Asia and Australia.

Their sound sits somewhere between the heavy riffs of Black Sabbath and AC/DC, the energy of punk and the rawness of garage rock.

Over the years they’ve appeared at major festivals including Roskilde and Wacken Open Air, toured across dozens of countries and built a reputation for wild, unpredictable and hugely entertaining live shows.

Now they’re coming to Connollys of Leap.
