The Board of Works presents ‘MAN POWER’ – Sun 29th October

The Board of Works bring their party from the East to South West October 29th. Fresh onto the scene, they have become known for their low key private events that implement three simple rules: No Cameras, No Fuck Actin’ & Keep Behind the Yellow Line. This bank holiday Sunday they bring Newcastle heavy weight and Me Me Me label boss Man Power.

Man Power aka Geoff Kirkwood has shown the complete picture of his sonic and thematic breadth via output for the likes of DFA, Optimo, Hivern Discs, SKINT, Permanent Vacation, ESP Institute and his own lauded Me Me Me. Creatively speaking, pinning down Geoff Kirkwood is a challenge.

While possibly best described as playing what Resident Advisor described in 2018 as “Intergalactic House”, Kirkwood is as comfortable writing and presenting experimental symphonies, ambient hauntology and Audio Visual orchestral performances as Bed Wetter or delivering raucous kinetic Techno as MPX. For everything in between, he is Man Power.

2023 now sees Man Power having returned full time to DJing and Production with gigs at places like the legendary Glastonbury festival or his residency at the hallowed Pikes Ibiza, multiple tours of Asia and The America’s, numerous Back2Back appearances playing with the likes of Special Request, Daniel Avery, Erol Alkan, Ewan McVicar, Prosumer & Sean Johnston, and a brace of EPs on labels including Nocturne, Echocentric & La La’s “Sound As Records.

Joining the bill on the night we have London based Irish Dj & producer Arveene.
