Kenny Dread is thrilled to curate a spring bash with the freshest new West Cork bands!
Kenny is doing a groove set focussed on reggae and funky influenced material with a tight ensemble featuring the mighty Alan John Brooks on bass, Brendan Connolly on guitar, Sarah Greenham Taylor on keyboards and harmonies, and Rik Appleby slapping the cajon.
The Bella Coola are that rare thing in the West of Ireland: A bonafide groovy funk n soul band with two excellent lead singers in Katrina O’Kane and Dale Holland, a sax/flute horn section, and sprinkles of electronica samples.
Mantra Mana Ma have emerged as an intriguing synthesis of world music, pop song, and chanting. Evocative singer Corinna Fisher plays the Indian harmonium and sings in several languages alongside guitarist Rik Appleby and South African percussionist/kora player Jonathan Barlow.
